ACHTUNG HANS-FANS! New baby photos are now online!

I finished Gurren Lagann today. Great show. I highly recommend you all buy a copy as soon as it comes out, even if you've already watched the fansub...

I've abandoned the novel for now. Hans is teething again, which means fever, which means cranky baby, which means he needs more attention from poor overworked Mommy, so I help as I can. I've been going over to the office of our family business and taking care of Hans in the late afternoons to give Mommy some time to do actual work. My big secret is that I actually enjoy taking care of and playing with baby. It's no sacrifice to do what you love! I just wish I could help Mommy more.
Anyway, there's no time for novel-writing these days. The house remodeling continues, with bookshelves installed and new (steel) roof going up early next month. I also just signed a contract to do a monthly comic strip for a inspection-industry promotional newsletter. It's a nice little deal that should turn out to be a lot of fun once we get rolling. On top of that, Cheap Disposable Entertainment (i.e. me,, and ) are putting together a new comic book these days — our first since Juku in 2001. It's called Hell Nurse Katie And Friends, and it's based upon the well-known Hell Nurse Katie character created by for Otaku Hell. The book's going to be comedy-oriented, with gag strips rather than drama, plus pinups and other stuff centered around the Otaku Hell universe. I'm really enjoying the work — I have about a half--dozen yonkoma in progress, plus a couple of pinups and some other odds and ends. Both and have some really solid strips in progress as well, so this one could be a real hoot. I hope to get back to the novel some day, but right now I'm too busy to fool with it.
I've also decided to get a full-time job again so we can rebuild our savings, so if any of you guys know of any juicy writing gigs, please let me know!

I'm going to go now — I had a tooth pulled today and I'm tired and sore. I'll do my best to post again this week before Thanksgiving begins. Come Friday, Team Bruce is off to the family farm for a few days of R&R, skeet shooting, and golf, but I should have some artwork up on the site before then.
Thanks for dropping by!

"When Hillary signed the Pokémon/Yu-Gi-Oh Law in 2009 I knew we anime fans were doomed. But it didn't have to end this way. America had a chance to elect a pro-anime candidate in 2008, but we were too busy watching illegal fansubs of Gurren Lagann to vote for the one man who stood proudly for our right as Americans to enjoy heavily-merchandised, pastel-tinted Japanese fantasy cartoons. That man was B-chan (M-Internets). Instead of rallying behind him, we wasted our votes on a Mormon, a TV actor, and a Libertarian.***"Now, like the catgirl in the cell with me, I weep..."
